Les Terrasses du Port

Marseilles, France

Les Terrasses du Port is located on the Boulevard du Littoral in the heart of Marseilles. The project includes a new shopping center as part of a larger effort to enhance urban life in the district. The shopping center has been a significant force in revitalizing the harbor area of Marseille.

  • The project site was inaccessible to the public for many years. In 2001, permission was granted to build a shopping mall. CCD created a plan for an attractive and sustainable shopping mall with 190+ brands on four levels set to appeal to locals and visitors to the area. CCD set out to design not only a new shopping destination but also to facilitate the development of a new urban hub in the harbor area.

  • Opened in 2014, this urban project revitalized the Port of Marseille with its introduction of 50,000 m² of retail space accessible by ferry. The commercial shopping center boasts a 260-meter long restaurant terrace with a pristine view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and restaurants overlooking the historic harbor of Marseille.

  • The shopping center attained a certification level of “Excellent” by BREEAM, distinguishing it as an environmentally conscious and sustainable commercial building. The design for Les Terrasses Du Port embraces the beauty of its natural setting, providing venues for visitors to enjoy the outdoors, including beach football and swimming as well as other leisure activities.
